These Terms govern your use of gif.ninja (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What the Service does
gif.ninja converts video clips into GIF files. On the free tier, conversion runs entirely in your browser — your video is not uploaded to or stored on our servers. The Service is provided free of charge and supported by advertising.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to create, convert, or distribute content that:
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- is unlawful, including sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that is obscene, defamatory, or promotes violence;
- violates the privacy or publicity rights of others.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to any video you convert, and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party right.
3. Your content
You retain all rights to the videos you convert and the GIFs you create. Because free-tier conversion happens on your device, we do not receive, host, or claim any rights to your content.
4. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any GIF will meet your expectations.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, gif.ninja and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability to you will not exceed USD $50.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless gif.ninja and its operators from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms, including any content you convert or distribute.
7. Advertising
The Service displays third-party ads (Google AdSense). Your use of ads is also subject to the Privacy Policy and Google's terms.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
